Trainee Toolmaker - Machinist

A world leader in the innovation, design and manufacture of Diesel Fuel Injection equipment are now looking for a Trainee Toolmaker
Machinist. Reporting to the Rig Support Technician Team Leader the Trainee Toolmaker will primarily be required to learn to produce prototype rig and product components to support the running of test rigs for product development and validation testing.
The Trainee Toolmaker duties will include but are not limited to:
Work under instruction to learn all aspects of manual machining and component manufacture.
Learn to read and produce technical drawings.
Train to expert level in milling, turning, screw cutting, grinding and use of precision measuring tools.
Provide fast solutions and rapid turnaround times for engineering activities.
Maintain logs and track jobs in and out of the prototype machine shop.
Participate in machine maintenance and general housekeeping.
Support ordering of tooling and stock maintenance
Undertake further vocational studies in engineering principles, materials technology, technical drawing and measurement and machining
techniques.
Contribute and participate in Total Quality activity to promote an environment of continuous improvement.
Comply with HS&E rules and work safely.
The successful applicant will have a GCSE in mathematics and a genuine interest in engineering and resolving technical
problems.
Must be a team player and be willing to train and develop skills.
