We seek a Senior IT Analyst for an initial 6-month contract based in Leicester.
THE COMPANY:
Caterpillar Building Construction Products (BCP) is located in Desford (Leicestershire). This site is dedicated to the assembly of small construction machines, typically used on building and construction sites. These include Backhoe Loaders, Small Wheel Loaders, Mini Hydraulic Excavators and Compact Wheel Loaders.
THE ROLE:
As Senior IT Analyst, you will be responsible for working both independently and with a cooperative team on complex projects that may span multiple infrastructure components or applications. Develop professional network and leadership skills, assisting in the creation and support of IT Solutions that enable their success. Exercises independent judgment with little to no direction from supervisor.
Working directly on application / technical problem identification and resolution, including off-shift and weekend support functions plus:
* Participating in integrated testing and user acceptance of application or infrastructure components.
* Working with vendors on the integration of purchased application(s) and/or infrastructure.
* Designing and implementing processes, or process improvements, to aid in development and support.
You will be required to have knowledge of the latest technology in programming languages, computing hardware and software and current development processes and tools. Contribute real value by developing, integrating, and/or supporting in-house and purchased applications or infrastructure solutions in order to solve business problems.
Knowledge and experience with one or more of the following business processes (Preferred):
1. Supply Chain.
2. Manufacturing.
3. Product Introduction.
4. Product Support.

Qualifications -
Glovia Module Customizations
Glovia Administrative,
Upgrades Glovia Module Implementation
Glovia PRO-IV SuperLayer design and development,
PRO-IV utilities user, and printer setup,
Security Unix Shell scripting,
Background in manufacturing Supply Chain/Logistics basics Use case,
MS Office Pro, MS Project, Visio
Applicants are required to have a background in manufacturing Supply Chain/Logistics basics
* Detailed Functional Design Documentation
Desirable Qualifications:
* Previous experience/familiarity with Desford UK specific Glovia customizations, Oracle administrative tasks and Oracle PL/SQL
Other relational databases include: SQL, TOAD Cognos Impromptu or other Reporting skill sets Unix (HP-UX) Admin/utilities tools and configuration and Perl
