Client Information
My client a global market leading manufacturing company based in South Yorkshire require a Mechanical Maintenance team to join their established team.

Main Duties

The main responsibilities of the position are to ensure high mechanical engineering availability throughout the department. This includes responsibilities for Health, Safety and Environment, maintaining engineering standards, development of equipment and monitoring of plant reliability and costs

Job description
-Ensure the manufacturing plant has the highest possible level of engineering availability at all times with respect to both planned preventative maintenance and reactive maintenance for any breakdowns.
-To fully understand engineering requirements and liaise with both internal colleagues and external contract engineers, ensuring repairs are promptly completed and machine availability is maximised to ensure profitable production.
-Will be working as part of multi skilled team
-Monitor plant delays and budgets so to identify potential plant improvements and cost reductions.
-Develop plant and equipment to increase machine availability, reduce cost to the business and improve H,S and E.
-Investigate plant breakdowns and conduct root cause analysis and implement findings to prevent re-occurrence in line with company procedures.
-Develop Preventative Maintenance schedules for all areas of plant to maximise availability.
-Negotiate and manage contracts relating to engineering supplies.
-Manage engineering activities to comply with Health, Safety and Environment requirements.
-Implement and control engineering safe working practices, to prevent accidents, plant failure and loss of production.


Key skills and experience

-Candidates should ideally be educated to HNC / HND or higher with experience of a range of heavy engineering and manufacturing industry experienced with a strong mechanical engineering background.
-Preferably an established background in a metal manufacturing operation with both hot and cold metal forming
-Knowledge of stainless steel processing plant and engineering requirements.
-Will be working within a global multisite company so candidates require a strong understanding of internal company policies and external regulations and legislation, including health and Safety among others.
-Proven ability to solve problems through investigation and application of sound solutions
