Repair / Approvals Engineer

Role:
- To review and approve correction labels submitted by production/inspection operatives.
- To communicate and report to customers problems of a technical nature in a supporting role to the Customer Services Department.
- To provide suitable Engineering Special Instructions for non-scheduled procedures required during the repair cycle of specific components.
- To design and produce detail drawings for the manufacture of suitable tooling to aid with the processing of components through the repair cycle.
- To suitably plan products through the repair cycle by means of creating route card planning sheets, route cards and data cards.
- To source material and new equipment to enable production to carry out component repair requirements.
- To generate repair scheme type documents from development repairs for controlling authority approval.
- To communicate with and support production operatives and inspectors to ensure understanding of issued route card and data card instructions.
- To maintain familiarity with the current status levels of all relevant technical data and specifications and implement changes accordingly via planning and data card amendments.

Essential:
- To be capable of reading and accurately interpreting detail part drawings, engine manuals and OEM published repair data, including service bulletins, specialised repairs and various other technical instructions in various formats.
- To be able to use Information Technology equipment and systems in the role of carrying out his tasks and duties.
- To display a working understanding in the field of component repair engineering and possess the necessary qualifications and/or experience to justify the position of Repair Engineer.
- To be able to create process planning, route sheets and data cards from approved data.
- To be able to innovate and develop new and improved repairs, methods and processes to increase component repair ability yields.
- To be able to accurately calculate costs of existing and new repair products and processes for customer pricing purposes.
- A self-motivated approach and a proactive attitude.
