Design Engineer (SMS)
Bristol/Bath/Cheltenham

The Role:
To conduct design work in support of Engineering project requirements for wing related civil aerospace applications, in both the production, design and development phases.
Would suit either dfesign engineers or lead engineers with some project experience.
Essential Requirements:
-To develop and manage key sets of requirements in the design environment in terms of loads, tolerances and interfaces.
-To develop technical solutions which are compliant with all relevant requirements, within agreed programs, timescales and manufacturing constraints.
-To ensure design compliance by appropriate engineering in accordance with all internal policies, procedures and work instructions.
-To manage all interfaces, tolerances, kinematics, weights, BOM's and configuration control of the design evolution
-To work in co-operation with other functional areas of the company to achieve local and overall business objectives.
-Skilled in tools such as CATIA V5, Windchill,
-To provide solutions to meet airworthiness standards and design approvals
-Ability to incorporate upgrade modifications into the drawing set and provide design solutions.
-Working with a team to create and update detail and assembly drawings, incorporating engineering change notes, achieving delivery to time cost and quality.
-Provide engineering input to technical, commercial and contract reviews within the company and with customers.
-Ensure that all project stakeholders have the right information at the right time, through pro-active communication.
-Identify training and development needs to ensure current and future skill requirements are met and addressed through coaching, on the job training and making recommendations for formal training.
-Support Engineering continuous improvement plan and "Lean" initiative to develop improved operating processes and procedures.
-Liaising with customers at the working level in order to meet their requirements.
-Managing own workload to ensure tasking completed to schedule.
