PPAP Engineer

We seek a PPAP Engineer for an initial 6 month contract based at Powys (Mid Wales).
THE COMPANY:
Our client is an international Tier 1 supplier of automotive Body-in-White products and services.
THE ROLE:
This appointment is specifically to cover the generation and sign off of PPAP documentation for current engineering programs. Reporting to the Program Quality Manager, this position is based at the final manufacturing location of new products currently being developed at Powys (Mid Wales).
The position will need an individual with experience in automotive quality, excellent PC skills, a keen eye for detail and the ability to work closely to deadlines.
Main Duties and Responsibilities will include:
- To lead the creation and validation of core documentation including but not limited to:
o Control Plans
o PFMEAS
o Process Flow Charts
o Standard Operating Procedures
o Packaging Instructions
o Process Layouts
- Working to deadlines to deliver completed documentation to the required standard.
- To work closely with program Quality Engineers to finalise and publish Measurement Strategies, gauge concepts and other customer specific documentation.
- To prepare phased PSW Submissions to Jaguar Landrover.
- To work with the Quality Teams of the manufacturing sites to ensure smooth integration into the plants.
THE PERSON:
Experienced in the generation of PPAP and Core Documentation.
Educated to City and Guilds level or be able to demonstrate equivalent standard through knowledge.
Minimum of 3 year's experience in an Automotive Quality Role.
Knowledge of relevant manufacturing processes and quality standards.
Body in White experience is preferable.
Experience of PPAP and PSW activities for JLR would be viewed advantageously.
