Our client plan to dramatically accelerate the development of in-vehicle UI in order to meet and exceed customer expectations within their future vehicle lines. To support this we are looking for an engineer with substantial experience in the design and development of leading edge UI software. The successful candidate will develop the UI for a variety of feature based on a set of high level standards and graphical themes. Through a rapid development framework the successful candidate will be required to realise there HMI design using the latest HMI modelling toolset before pushing forward evaluations in order to validate usability. If appropriately skilled there will also be the opportunity to encompass voice control capability to further improve easy of use. This position would provide an ideal opportunity for an enthusiastic engineer from the following sectors to apply their skills to a next generation of premium vehicles: Mobile industry, Gaming, Desktop applications, or Web applications.

Skills Required:
Ability to develop UI flows and layouts for complex infotainment/Consumer Electronics systems. Knowledge of UI software architectures and development tools. Excellent communication and requirements capturing/questioning skills (written and verbal). Very good logical and analytical thinking. Ability to work quickly, effectively to high standards while coping with requirements change. Good team work but with ability to work independently and self-efficiently when required.

Skills Preferred:
Experience developing and validating consumer electronics HMI.

Experience Required:
Extensive experience in development of complex UIs. Experience constructing and conducting HMI evaluations/user trails. Experience with modelling/coding leading edge embedded HMI applications. Proven delivery performance is essential.

Experience Preferred:
UI evaluation and validation techniques. Ideally developed UI designs for touchscreen devices. Experience defining the UI for consumer electronics devices (not necessarily software development experience), and development of automotive HMI systems (touch screens, instrument clusters). A thorough understanding of the HMI development process of the premium automotive sector. Experience leading cross functional teams to develop HMI.

Education Required:
While not essential, a degree in software engineering or subject closely related to consumer electronics would be desirable.
