Our client is Europe s largest independent supplier of lithium-ion battery systems. The development of Electric and Hybrid Vehicles has created a tremendous demand for its products and expertise, bringing with it a great opportunity for a talented, energetic and ambitious Engineering Project Manager to work with high-performance vehicle manufacturers in the UK and Mainland Europe.
Based in Coventry, commutable from Birmingham, Leicester, Northampton, Warwickshire; the Engineering Project Manager will be responsible for cost, schedule, scope, risk and opportunity, resource planning and the technical implementation of OEM vehicle programmes.

  • Lead projects from kick-off through to production launch, acting as the primary customer interface and facilitating all project activities
  • Understand and monitor the project team`s ability to successfully deliver projects, ensuring recovery plans are developed where failure to deliver is anticipated
  • Understand and monitor the project scope and deliverables ensuring uncontrolled creep does not occur
  • Own and report on the financial position of the project and manage the schedule to create project opportunity
  • Motivate and lead a multidiscipline engineering team
  • Identify outsource opportunities and manage their deliverables
  • Deliver the programme on time and to budget
  • There will be a degree of travel in the UK and mainland Europe and possibly the USA

    This challenging position would suit a hands-on, practical, qualified individual who has a proven background within project management with experience of leading project teams in the delivery of new product introduction for automotive customers. Full product training will be provided and applications are welcomed from Project Managers from a wide range of vehicle product development backgrounds including electrical and electronics, powertrain, chassis, body and trim, safety systems.

  • Customer focused, creative, energetic and enthusiastic
  • Engineering Degree qualified
  • Minimum of 5 years automotive projects experience
  • Commercially aware
  • Experienced in outsource management
  • Proven track record of delivery
  • Proficient in MS Project and Office
  • Experience in PPAP and APQP
  • Understanding of earned value management
