The company is a leading international development partner to the automobile and engine industry. They are going through a period of major growth and are looking to hire a Head of Assembly.

This is a newly created position which will oversee all Company assembly strategy, budgets and resource plans in a multi-site operation; ensuring all output schedules are met in full, on time and to required quality and cost standards

Duties will include:

• Monitor departmental KPI's and individuals performance
• Monitor and identify opportunities for cost reduction
• Investigate stock discrepancies and take corrective action and control stock values
• Ensure Suppliers are selected, appraised and work in line with business requirements
• Ensure production processes are maintained and developed using the Company continuous improvement, actively encouraging team participation
• Responsibility for the recruitment, training, motivation and safety and welfare of personnel.
• Monitor supply performance. Report periodically providing statistical data.
• Perform any other tasks as required by the Plant Director that are within the capability of the jobholder.
• Co-ordinate all site security requirements
• Responsible for the Health and Safety of all employees and visitors. Monitor and maintain housekeeping of all areas under your responsibility and environmental issues
• Manage Production Supervisors, Team Leaders and non production support personnel
• Responsible for maintaining and storing all relevant production records Qualified to degree level or equivalent in an appropriate engineering subject, you will have worked in the automotive industry and have held a senior management position being responsible for staff and budgets.
  
  You will also have experience of managing and implementing projects which could include assembly line relocation, new product introduction etc.
  
  A working knowledge of SAP or similar management tool would be highly desirable, as would familiarity of a second European language (preferably German).
  
  You will be customer focussed (internal and external) and be looking to develop your team`s capabilities whilst at all times ensuring targets are delivered on time, in full.
