Here is a great opportunity for an experienced Electrical Design Project Engineer to join one of the world`s most successful privately owned powertrain engineering specialists. As the 1st choice supplier of engine test equipment to Automotive and Motorsport industries its products are in high demand ensuring a bright, rewarding and secure future. Based near to Kidderminster, this position is commutable from Birmingham, Coventry, Wolverhampton, Worcester, Evesham, Malvern, Redditch, Warwick. Relocation assistance is available for candidates living outside daily commuting distance.

As an Electrical Design Project Engineer you will be responsible for the electrical design of engine test bed solutions for major car manufacturers and tier one suppliers into the Automotive industry. Key duties will include:

  • Meetings with customers and suppliers to define the design requirements.
  • Electrical design of the system schematic diagrams in ePLAN P8 (or similar).
  • Electrical design of control panel layouts in AutoCad LT2011 (or similar).
  • Production of Engineering Parts Lists.
  • Production of IO Configuration Sheets.
  • Production of specifications for electrical sub-contractors / control panel manufacturers.
  • To deliver a quality on-time and within budget design.
    Candidate requirements:
  • Degree, HND or HNC qualification.
  • Good working knowledge of ePLAN P8, ideally Vrr2.
  • Knowledge of AutoCad LT2011.
  • Knowledge of Office 2010 with good IT skills.
  • Knowledge of BS EN 60204-1.
  • Experience in the integration of the new machinery directive EN ISO 13849-1.
  • Knowledge of AC Vector Drive Systems.
  • Experience in the design of Form 2 Motor Control Centres together with a background knowledge of integrating automation systems into facility PLC / BMS systems would be an advantage.
  • Experience in working with IEE Requirements for Electrical Installations: BS 7671 : 2008 - 17th Edition would also be an advantage.
