Our client is one of the world`s leading automotive engineering consultancies.
As Account Manager you will have responsibility for delivering customer proposals, interfacing with all layers of customers, developing good will and good relationships and will support the Lead Engineer/Manager with customer interface at all levels. You will interface with Group Chief/Chief/Lead and all engineers and with customers to develop and deliver proposals to the right standard and according to agreed timescales. You will also be responsible for using quotation planning and estimating tools (MSP, Excel based) effectively to develop proposals and quotations, maintaining good records or workload and status of achievements vs plan. You will support senior management with metrics and reporting and also support other functions of the Commercial Office as required.
You must be degree qualified or have a similar qualification and have strong numeracy, literacy, editing and project planning skills. You must also have a minimum of five years automotive or related industry experience, good logical reasoning, communication and interpersonal skills and be able to demonstrate good knowledge of automotive engineering and depth of knowledge of customer requirements and technical proposals. You will preferably be a Chartered Engineer or working towards chartered status, a good team worker but enthusiastic and self-motivating with the ability to handle pressure and to work to tight deadlines. You will need good knowledge and experience of global delivery and off-shoring practices and at least one project planning/estimating tool.
