Safety Engineer
Gaydon, Warwickshire, England
£43.10 - 43.10 per hour

The safety engineer shall be responsible for the following: Production of the system safety case. System Hazard analysis and risk estimation. Production of safety documentation. Production of safety test plan. Liaison with system supplier to ensure safety requirements are met and documented. Liaison with any 3rd party safety assessors to ensure 3rd part sign-off. Liaison with the System team to translate safety requirements into system requirements. Support of system safety reviews. Support/training of System team to carry out safety related tasks.
Skills Required:

The safety engineer should meet the IEE guidelines for competency with respect to safety related systems. This should include the following: Strong experience with safety related systems, particularly complex electronic systems. Actual involvement in safety case production and 3rd party assessment. Safety critical software techniques and methods. Design for safety related systems. Safety system analysis. Experience with the various safety standards (IEC91508, ISO26262, Def-Stan etc).

Skills Preferred:

Strong communication skills. Strong organisational skills. A high level of diligence and personal integrity. Ability to work within a team. Sound judgement.
