An excellent opportunity for a Technical Buyer to join a leading motorsport team.

Reporting to the Purchasing Manager the Technical Buyer will be responsible for managing the procurement of parts, materials and services related to the build of formula one cars.

The Technical Buyer responsibilities will include:

Procuring parts from preferred suppliers, within budget, and adhering to the relevant purchasing and finance procedures;

Working with project leaders to ensure parts are delivered in line with the requirements of the project plan and to the correct quality standard;

Supporting cost reduction and supplier rating system;

Managing the logistical requirements of all finishing and further processing requirements;

Expediting all open purchase orders and update SAP and the project leaders as necessary;

Ensuring all procurement data in SAP is maintained to a high standard ensuring accuracy and attention to detail at all times;

Developing supplier capability knowledge through supplier visits with Quality Assurance Manager;

Completing daily tasks/workload set by the Purchasing Team Leader and/or Purchasing Manager;

Working with design and manufacturing to reduce procurement lead-times whenever possible;

Attending and actively contribute to regular team meetings with the Purchasing team Leader.

The ideal candidate will possess a degree, preferably procurement related, together with a background in a similar role.

An appreciation of modern MRP/ERP software and associated logistical tools, the successful candidate will be able to understand and interpret technical drawings and/or composite lay-up manuals.

A strong proven competence of modern composites, machining and fabrication manufacturing processes are beneficial. Flexibility in hours and approach is required, along with the ability to work under minimum supervision.

A proven competence of a racing environment would be advantageous.
