This is a well known and respected manufacturer of precision high added value products that supplies many prestigeous Automotive OEM brands


As an established and highly profitable independent business part of a much larger group they are now looking to recruit a forward thinking and highly motivated Quality, Health and Safety professional. In this capacity you will be part of a small executive team and be expected to:


take overall responsibility for the company`s QA function,

continually develop, implement and update the quality improvement plan

be fully conversant with the requirements of TS16949 with automotive Tier 1 experience

maintain all necessary customer quality accreditations


The main responsibilities and duties of the role will be:


the management of a busy Quality and Metrology Department.


working closely with sales, engineering and supply chain functions to develop and undertake APQP procedures appropriate to customer requirements

conduct appropriate audits to TS and ISO9001

liaise with customers as required to provide support for product quality issues in the field

have demonstrable experience in leading the application of quality management systems in a high variety low volume assembly and test environment

combine determination and resolve with diplomacy and tact in order to influence peers and non-reports to achieve desired outcomes

use tactical and strategic abilities to resolve daily operational issues as well as develop a departmental strategy in support of the overall business plan

demonstrate presentations skills sufficient to lead supplier forums and reviews

keeping abreast of Health, Safety and Environmental legislative changes

reporting HSE information into the parent company

manage the requirements for HandS policy, procedures and health surveillance.
Experience and qualifications:

educated to degree level in either Engineering, Manufacturing or Quality disciplines

management experience ideally in an automotive tier 1 environment with responsibility for QSHE

previous experience with precision machined components would be beneficial, or low volume/high value batch assembly
