CAE Safety Crash Engineer

£27.60 - 27.60 per hour
The position is to deliver the agreed Vehicle Safety targets for a major new product. The role requires the applicant to integrate the activities of design, package, occupant restraints, restraints electronics, BIW and other component groups to deliver safety performance. The role also includes planning and analysis of tests.
Skills Required:
Engineering development skills. Mechanical and data analysis skills.
Skills Preferred:
Familiar with Crash CAE, test protocols, test laboratories, crash testing, sled testing, test dummies (ATDs), airbags, driver airbags, passenger airbags, curtain airbags, seat airbags, seatbelts, seats, kneebolsters, structures, energy management, restraints electronics, regulations self certification, FMVSS, ECE, litigation, ENCAP, IIHS.
Experience Required:
Applicants should be familiar with Vehicle Safety integration and testing activity. The applicant should also be familiar with aspects of vehicle architecture, legal and consumer safety standards.
Experience Preferred:
The applicant should be able to critique system, component design, and CAE model output, but is not expected to build or run CAE models.
Education Required:
Educated to a minimum level of HND.
Education Preferred:
Preferably educated in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Maths, Systems Engineering, or Physics.
Additional Information:
Role is primarily at Gaydon, but involves work at Whitley site.
