Design Assistant
Slough
Up to £15p.h. 40hr per week contract
My client is one of the world's largest utilities, focused on delivering energy safely, reliably and efficiently. They are currently looking to recruit on a contract basis 2 Design Assistants to be based from their Slough office until the end of the year with an immediate start.
You will need to have a strong technical background ideally with knowledge of the mains replacement programme and ideally have worked within a design or planning environment within the utilities sector. You should have some understanding of underground plant and equipment. The role will involve interpreting paper based designs or plans and entering them onto the in-house system as part of a companywide computer system upgrade. You will also be required to produce drawings and produce amendments to existing designs.
You will ideally hold technical drawing or mechanical engineering qualifications and the role would suit a recent engineering graduate looking for professional experience. The role is scheduled for a start in the first week of August and interview slots are already arranged. The position has a 40 hour contract and will pay up to £15 per hour. Full training on all relevant systems will be provided.
