HMI Programme Attribute Team Leader

£27.60 - 27.60 per hour

Programme Attribute Team Leader, HMI (Human Machine Interface) and AandU (Accommodation and Usability). For specific new vehicle programmes, take project management responsibility for development of the Human Machine Interface, Accommodation and Usability. Develop and set targets. Develop the vehicle concept with Design and Engineering. Evaluate and develop vehicle design via User Trial and Expert evaluation. Ensure adherence to relevant standards. Lead problem resolution and validate delivery throughout the design and development process, reporting status using formal documentation (e.g. eFDVS) and act as the single point of contact for the programme team.

Skills Required:
Sound understanding of good HMI and Ergonomic Design Principles for Occupant Package and User Interface. Ability to coordinate and run user trials to gather objective data to support business decision making and detail design. Statistical analysis, problem solving and root-cause analysis including idea generation and issue resolution. Clear and concise communicator. Ability to produce formal documentation to a professional standard. Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deliver to short timescales and deadlines. Self-motivated and able to work unsupervised within the local team and interfacing across business functions.

Skills Preferred:
Interpretation of customer quality data (e.g. JD Power). Design of experiments (HMI and Ergonomics).

Experience Required:
Vehicle design for driver and passenger Accommodation and Usability. Development and validation of Graphical User Interfaces and HMI. Coordination and analysis of user-trials.

Experience Preferred:
Familiarity with premium automotive sector products and features. Competitor research/benchmarking (physical and web-based) and quality data analysis.

Education Required:
Educated to degree level in a related discipline (Human Factors, Ergonomics and/ or Product Design, Engineering).

Education Preferred:
Higher qualification (e.g. MSc in Human Factors).

Additional Information :
This role is primarily based at Gaydon, but will also require frequent working at Whitley.
