Our client is a precision low volume high performance vehicle manufacturer. They are currently seeking to recruit a Programme Manager initially on a contract basis with a view to the role becoming permanent in the future.

The position itself is mainly working and leading on a KERS project. A lot of the programmes are driven by a launch however this is mainly delivering the programme and making sure the processes is followed in line with timescales.

Although the position is working the core hours there may be occasions that due to the nature of the business trackside support via the telephone would be required.

GENERAL DUTIES:

* Programme setup and launch, create and control scope document with cross-functional buy-in and sign-off
* Manage and lead a formal disciplined gateway review process
* Drive alignment of all key stakeholders across the value chain
* Identify and mitigate risks and barriers to progress
* Facilitate achievement of Engineering objectives, be creative to maximise the rate of learning
* Track and report on status vs. key plan dates and technical targets
* Process ECNs ensuring the requirements are clearly communicated and aligned with the Programme needs

Idea to Stores Phase:

* Detailed project planning and implementation of this plan
* Identify resource required to achieve Programme targets and drive the relevant functions to provide this resource
* Lead Supplier Design Agreements to engage the supplier early in the design process and minimise time from idea to stores
* Ensure Supply Chain, Build and Test alignment to maximise the rate of learning
* Provide direction and insight for Materials Planners to ensure clear communication of requirements and priorities to the Supply Chain
* Work closely with the Supply Chain to expedite delivery where necessary to achieve Programme objectives

Specification to Strip Phase:

* Maintain and release Top Level Plan to provide "big picture" volume requirements
* Ensure Stores, Build and Test alignment with Programme requirements
* Release test requests, adding to dev. spec activity as required
* Provide direction and insight for Hardware Coordinators to ensure clear communication of requirements and priorities to Stores, Build and Test
* Work closely with the Trackside teams to ensure timely provision of information and hardware

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

* Engineering or Science based Degree (minimum 2:1) and/or sufficient experience in a relevant industry to have a wealth of knowledge to draw upon when managing fast paced, Engineering-led Programmes
* Experience of SAP and Microsoft Project
* Attention to detail and creative problem solving skills are essential
* Ability to lead a project and be responsive
* Professional, positive attitude with excellent written and oral communication skills
* Able to motivate teams in highly pressurised situations
* Tenacious, ambitious and creative with a very good attention to detail
* Capability to work both tactically and strategically as required by the Programme needs
* Self-motivated with excellent time management
* Ability to manage complex scenarios in a constantly changing environment with deadlines that do not move

DESIRABLE ATTRIBUTES:

* Post graduate qualifications relating to the demonstration of professional development such as CEng or MBA
* Beneficial to have some trackside experience, a small degree of engineering knowledge as well as supply chain knowledge
