Our client is a leading independent provider of product engineering, research, testing information and certification to the worldwide automotive industry and is based in Warwickshire.

They are currently seeking to recruit a Steering Wheel and Tyres Project Leader on an ongoing contract basis to support clients by leading and contributing to the timely delivery of a range of exciting new models.

The Project Leader / Management role in the area of SWandT is of significant importance in the programme as it is responsible for the delivery of key customer requirements.

Currently we are at Concept / Prototype Stage in the development of SWandT system and therefore, many components / systems are still very fluid and various ideas are being considered in an attempt to secure PS - Project Start.

The candidate will work at the whole vehicle level to develop attribute performance in conjunction with relevant component owners.

As a principle leader the successful candidate will need to work very prescriptively within various processes and protocols of the client company whilst drawing upon and utilising their own engineering skills in order to make this a success.

Working with the Vehicle Engineering Manager and his Team you will be responsible for the Concept Development and delivery of the vehicle attributes to support our client's requirements. The specific identified tasks are:

* Targets setting and cascade
* DVP creation and monitoring and FDVS inputs
* AIMS Champion/update - support of AIMS reviews
* Chair Project / Status review meetings
* Manage all attribute issues and resolution routes
* Track key actions and expedite delivery
* VIT meeting attendance
* ESO tracker updates
* Panel chart creation and maintenance
* Write and have approved gateway and ESO reports
* Key interface during the launch phases alongside the Launch Team

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

* Manufacturing processes, demands and protocols.
* Build planning (and some project planning knowledge).
* Working knowledge of GPDS, i3, LQOS, WERs, AIMs, Concerns, QZ, PPAP, eFDVS, integrator.
* Global 8D, six sigma methodologies, A3/A4 protocols
* Traumas, tribulations and success that comes with launching new products.
* Working knowledge of the test and development process associated with the attribute.
* Working knowledge of OEM and automotive development requirements.
* Good standard of education and learning relevant to the role ideally at degree level.

DESIRABLE

* Can demonstrate that they have delivered or made a significant contribution to the successful implementation of a project.
* Work or supported a launch environment in either manufacturing or engineering
* Undertaken test and development role on passenger cars associated with the attribute
* Can demonstrate the successful delivery (driver rather than passage) of programmes/ activities by taking ownership of all appropriate tasks.
* Worked and operated within an engineering and/or manufacturing environment within either the automotive or aerospace activities.
* Has a working knowledge of project planning from concept development through to launch and appreciates the key issues associated with successful delivery.
* Confident to support all management drives.
* Can demonstrate a flexible approach to the way they work.
* Experienced at dealing with conflict whilst remaining delivery focused.
* Used to working within a highly productive team.
* Used to working with limited supervision
