Dimensional Engineer - 19978 (£32.41/hr Ltd)

A market leading, Midlands based Automotive client is currently seeking to recruit a Dimensional Engineer on a 6 month contract basis to support key deliverables within the Dimensional Control and build integrity department. The primary function will be to cover future model introduction at body construction sites.
Working within a busy Manufacturing Engineering department and Reporting directly to the Manager of Dimensional Maturation and Build Integrity, the individual will be responsible for the following:
* Support the Dimensional Maturation and Build Integrity Project Engineer in the Programme deliverables.
* Identify and Drive tasks associated with the Dimensional Maturation and Build Integrity and report out status in an agreed format.
* Support the buy off of the virtual product and process validation provided by the Dimensional Management and DVA team for all model lines
* Support the Project Engineer and monitor the planning, execution and administration of product and manufacturing tooling maturation events through the various launch phases from CP build to Job1 + 90 days for all model lines
* Represent Dimensional Control and Build Integrity when required at the home base and at the all launch sites.
* Support the programme buy off, and drive the application of the Dimensional Management System for all model lines to confirm product dimensional acceptance.
* Support and drive the build quality performance, monitoring the launch sites to recognise and address capability issues and address them
* Support the Project Engineer in the Liaison with the AME/CME/PD/Stamping Engineering Engineers, Managers and Area Managers of launch sites to prepare and accomplish the hand over of dimensional quality activities within Job1 + 90
* Support the compliance with corporate initiatives like TS16949, ISO 14001, etc within the Dimensional Control and Build Integrity Group.
* Represent the Project Engineer / Manager Dimensional Maturation and Build Integrity as required.
* Lead Departmental / Company Administration requirements identified individually and support all other Team Members in their activities as and when required
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
* Relevant Engineering Degree and / or relevant experience is preferred, as would Time Served in Manufacturing Engineering, Product Development or Production related roles.
* Problem Solving and accurate reporting skills are essential
* Self starting individual with a dynamic and flexible mind set.
* Highly self-motivated, production orientated with proven team leading and effective communication skills.
* Ideally possess a HNC / HND or equivalent, in a relevant Engineering Discipline and sound hands on experience in the dimensional product on tooling maturation, preferably in the Body Shop.
* Computer literacy
* Ability to write technical reports and give presentations are essential requirements.
* Experience in metrology and manufacturing engineering as well as Six Sigma experience as Green Belt or Black Belt are beneficial
