Field Application Engineer - Automotive - Essex - £Neg

Due to expansion of the business a degree qualified Field Application Engineer is required for this Essex based engineering company. Must have solid experience with hybrid and electric vehicle and or battery systems.

Working within a small team, the successful candidate will be responsible for a broad range of system engineering activities all associated with Battery Management Systems and CANbus communication as well as other roles associated with the design and manufacture of battery systems and communication systems.
The main part of the role will require an in depth knowledge of CANbus communications, protocols, specifications, testing and debugging (typically CAN2.0B or J1939) as this is at the core of the BMS and vehicle integration alongside a knowledge of high power battery systems, design manufacture and testing.
Additional advantageous skills include electronic/electrical/mechanical design and programming skills.

Primarily, the role will be based in Southend on Sea, Essex. Due to rapid expansion of the business, there is likely to be a move to a new location within Essex in the next six months.
Once the engineer is confident with the system, there will be some travel involved in supporting the product both in the UK and abroad.
