Based near Kidderminster in the UK Midlands, this position is commutable from Birmingham, Coventry, Wolverhampton, Worcester, Evesham, Malvern, Warwick, Gloucester. Relocation assistance is available for candidates residing outside a reasonable daily commute.

The purpose of the job is to undertake all functions allocated by the department management in support of product design, system integration and test facility design including calculations, production drawings and graphical representations of installations of engine test facilities. In addition it will be necessary to visit the company Headquarters and affiliated offices in mainland Europe, UK customers and sub-contractors sites as required. Another aspect of the role will be drawing system administrator, as well as managing, maintaining and developing the CAD system in conjunction with the IT Manager. This will include recommendations and justifications for changes to the CAD system with the aim of improving overall efficiency and inter-affiliate CAD file exchange.

Details of tasks required of the role:
- Produce mechanical designs, calculations, drawings and documents as required to support the bidding process and fulfillment of contracts.
- Take a leading role, following appropriate training and familiarisation, in the creation and maintenance of a drawing and file sharing system.
- With training and assistance, develop and maintain a level of expertise in the company"s products and processes.
- Assist in the preparation of quotations and to make such presentations as required to support the sales process.
- To develop and maintain regular harmonious relations with colleagues throughout the Group and with potential, past and present customers.
- Comply with QA and Environmental Protection procedures pertinent to the mechanical design process.
- Travel to customer sites as reasonably required and to other sites within the Group for training.

Candidate Requirements:
Candidates will need to be qualified to a minimum of HND or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering and have expertise in Solidworks and AutoCad LT. Experience in the design of machined components, complex fabrications, fluid piping systems and ventilation systems and ductwork will be required as will a working knowledge of the Machinery Directive and the CE marking process. Experience of the engine and or automotive test industry would be a distinct advantage.
