We have an exciting opportunity for a Quality professional to provide leadership and ownership of Quality Improvements in our state-of-the-art Machining Company.

THE COMPANY:

We are a wholly owned subsidiary of a privately held group. It is a market leader in prototype small batch and low volume castings specialising in complex, hi integrity, structural sand castings. Located in the West Midlands, we are fully equipped with new 3, 4 and 5 axis machining centres and our machining expertise plays an integral part in the group's ability to offer full service supply from concept design to casting through to delivery of fully validated machined assemblies.

THE ROLE:

Your responsibilities will include: facilitate activities to reduce scrap and rework, provide support and coaching to shop floor processes with respect to product quality, carry out internal audits and drive corrective actions, liaise with customers and internally to ensure problem resolution, support the NPI process, and undertake Inspector duties.

Key success factors will involve: internal and external scrap and rework reduction, effective undertaking and closure of system, process and product audits, and delivery of improvement initiatives to agreed Quality standard, within agreed timescales.

THE PERSON:

You will have knowledge of 8D, Control Plans, FMEA, and other quality tools and techniques, a good understanding of ISO 9001:2008, and experience of machined parts inspection employing all generally used engineering inspection tools / equipment.

You will have a background in precision engineering or machined parts or automotive manufacturing preferably but not necessarily involving experience of aluminium / iron cast components. Above all, you will view this as a real career step and rise to the challenge in this highly visible position.
