A market leading, Midlands based Automotive client is currently seeking to recruit a Data Management Engineer on a 6 month contract basis.
Working within a busy Manufacturing Operations department, the individual will be responsible for agreeing vehicle production plans with the Sales team, using IT systems and managing the production plan, ensuring it is supportable by the supply base and in line with incoming vehicle orders. On a weekly basis you will use the plan to generate supplier material schedules and work closely with other departments (eg Purchasing, Brand etc) to resolve any specific issues. You will also need to support ongoing strategic projects to improve the overall order to delivery process.
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
* Minimum A level or equivalent, although Degree is preferred
* Able to work accurately, in a fast paced environment whilst meeting strict deadlines.
* Able to apply strong numerical, analytical and problem solving skills to make appropriate decisions in demanding situations.
* Must be IT literate, quickly able to become a competent user of new systems whilst already an experienced and proficient user of MS Office, especially Excel.
* Must have effective communication skills, be able to work as part of a small team and also develop cross-functional contacts.
* Negotiation skills developed whilst dealing with suppliers / customers is beneficial
* Analytical roles with extensive use of IT; preferably involving production planning to achieve order fulfilment / delivery of some form.
* Experience of automotive production planning / ordering systems from a supplier / dealer perspective is desirable
