Multi-Skilled CNC Machinist

£150 per day
Our client is a precision manufacturer, based in the East Midlands with links to the motorsport industry. They are currently seeking to recruit a Multi-Skilled CNC Machinist, initially up to December 2012, with a view to extend into 2013.
Reporting to the Product Team Leader, this role requires a highly skilled individual to work on a wide range of machining centres and manufacturing processes.
Responsibilities will include producing and delivering components to meet the demand of the engine program and confirming they meet the required specification.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
* Completion of a Manufacturing Apprenticeship program with a multi skill recognition.
* Minimum of 5 years CNC machining experience and at least 2 years working on and setting up 5 axis machining centres in a precision engineering environment.
* Previous experience of Fanuc/ Heidenhain control systems is essential.
* Self managing and self motivated individual who is able to work effectively in a cross functional team
* Ability and vision to improve manufacturing practices and processes.
* Must have the ability to understand the customer requirement and be able to deliver this to the highest quality and in full and on time.
DESIRABLE ATTRIBUTES:
* Mori-Seiki, Matsuura or Mikron multi axis machining centre experience.
* Experience of setting and machining high precision prismatic components
* Ability to take a data driven approach to problem resolution
* Able to identify "at risk" processes and implement robust countermeasures
