Lead Design Requirement Engineer-South Coast-Excellent Package.
Our client is a leading supplier of structures and systems to the Aerospace Sector. They are currently seeking an experienced Lead Design Engineer to work at there offiices based on the south coast.
Role Summary:
In this role you work as part of an Integrated Product Development Team (IPDT), interpreting, managing and validating customer functional work package requirements into a set of defined requirements that enable the delivery of an integrated system design which meets that customer requirement. You will manage the flow down of requirements changes to the IPDT and external suppliers throughout the product lifecycle. You will be responsible for reporting key performance indicators associated with requirement management to senior management.
Essential Responsibilities:
Interpretation and management of the customer requirements into a set of defined internal requirements that will enable the IPDT to deliver a validated system design that meets those customer requirements.
Own the processes which will validate that the internal requirements to satisfy the customer requirements.
Ensure customer and key stakeholder sign off against the output of the requirements definition process.
Manage the flow down of the defined internal requirements to the IPDT and external suppliers.
Own the definition of the project requirements baseline, and report on movement from that baseline.
Management of baseline requirement libraries to enable review by internal and external stakeholders of updated customer requirements allowing impact statements to be defined with stakeholders.
Support the process of defining the Work Breakdown Structure and the generation of the supporting relevant requirements statements.
Co-ordination with the customer during requirement changes, identifying critical changes and working with the team to determine the impacts to internal and external stakeholders.
Lead the process within the team to identify and document the costs and durations of requirement activities.
Governance of requirement deliverables, i.e. progress meetings, generation of metrics.
Prepare and present requirement status and data at internal / external reviews.
Support on-going continuous improvement initiatives and improvement of design requirement processes.
