Our client is a world-leader in the provision of project management, technical engineering and construction services to the Water industry, on programs ranging from Water Supply, Treatment and Storage to Water Resources Management and Coastal Restoration. They are currently looking to appoint a Mechanical Engineer at their Peterborough office on a contract basis.

As Mechanical Engineer, you will provide superior quality engineering design services to allow the company to minimize risks and maximize profits on turnkey and engineering services contracts

You will have responsibility for:
- Producing mechanical design layouts which are cost effective, meet the requirements of the specification and which can be purchased, installed and commissioned effectively
- Ensuring that plant and equipment procured by the department is procured on time and to budget
- Ensuring continuous improvement of the business processes
- Monitoring design costs and provide design services appropriate to the allowance available
- Managing cost effective mechanical designs by other mechanical and assistant mechanical engineers
- Co-ordinating designs with all other disciplines internal and external, in order to ensure that the design processes carried out on the contract are co-ordinated for the benefit of the contract as a whole

Educated to a high level of competency in the principles of Water and Sewage Treatment with a BEng in Mechanical Engineering. You will ideally be a Chartered member of an engineering institute such as IMechE. In addition, you must have a detailed knowledge/ experience of designing mechanical aspects of Water and Sewage treatment plants
