A Tyre Evaluation Test Engineer is required to work within Vehicle Engineering on contract for our Client, an OEM specialising in luxury and SUV/Off road vehicles.
The position will be based in the West Midlands.
Positions description:
The Primary responsibility is to work within a team of Tyre Development Engineers to carry out vehicle-level subjective evaluations across OEM programmes on numerous tyre specifications as and when they come in.
The vehicle-level properties that will need assessing are :
- Ride (Comfort)
- Steering
- Handling
- Wet handling
- High Speed Confidence Feel
- Ice and Snow handling
- Curved Aquaplaning
- In the case of Off Road programmes, Stability testing and Off-Road capability.
Experience / education required:
- Must possess Expert Evaluation skills for Ride (Comfort), Steering, Limit Handling (Dry, Wet, Ice/Snow, High Speed).
- Ability to write accurate and complete tyre evaluation sheets, within 2 days of performing the test.
- Proven ability to find differences between Tyres for Ride, Steering and/or Handling down to the minutes of details and report accordingly.
- Ideally, already in the role at another OEM or Tyre Supplier as Tyre tester.
- Must be familiar with writing Risk Assessments.
