They are going through a period of major growth and are looking to hire a Quality Engineer to ensure that customer satisfaction is maintained through product conformance to agreed quality standards and processes. The responsibility of the Quality Engineer will cover the entire supply chain, from supplied parts to the site through to delivered components at the customer.

Support for New Product Introduction, for supplier selection, supplier monitoring and development, as well as driving continuous improvement activities with the cell are also encompassed in the role

  • Conduct supplier assessments against the requirements of ISO/TS16949 or VDA series as appropriate
  • Support NPI through the approval of the initial sample reports, capability analysis reports and 2-day production runs
  • Liaise with suppliers on key quality problems to support the business units using 8D approach
  • Report on supplier performance results and carry out analysis with the aim of prioritising improvement actions
  • Assist in the development of the metrology department to provide effective and efficient services
  • Maintain regular liaison with customers through routine visits and Simultaneous Engineering Teams, as well as being the first point of contact for customer engineering concerns
  • Monitor both internal and external scrap levels, initiating problem solving activities and scrap reduction initiatives

    Qualifications

    Experience
  • A minimum of 3 years experience gained within a similar role within an automotive environment is essential covering Advanced Quality Planning (AQP) and Quality Auditing (QA)
