Our client is a global sugar, cereal sweetener, starch and citric acid processing company and market sugar products throughout the world.

 


The successful candidate will be required to manage/supervise a team of Packing Maintenance Technicians and Engineering contractors to optimise plant performance (OEE) and provide a maintenance service that supports production within the Packing and Warehouse area.
Work safely and ensure that all employees and contractors under their supervision fully comply with the Company SHEEQ and statutory requirements.


Plan, schedule and agree work plans with the Packing Manager, Production planning department and (where necessary) the Site Engineering Manager.


Manage all engineering activities within the Packing and Warehouse area, prioritising and optimising available internal resources and contractors to ensure expedient, high quality repairs, servicing and overhauls.


Ensure via appropriate performance review and disciplinary measures that all Maintenance Technicians deliver the required standards of performance.


Support and coach team via consistent supervision, regular team meetings and identifying training needs.


Develop maintenance plans that provide a sustainable maintenance regime that optimises preventative, planned and reactive activities and maximises plant OEE.


Identify plant reliability issues, utilising appropriate resources, tools (RCM and RCA) and techniques and deliver measurable improvements.
Preferably dual skilled Mechanical and Electrical.


Experience of directly managing a team of 25 maintenance technicians preferably within an automated food packing environment.


Proven track record of solving soft and hard problems, using creative thinking and problem solving techniques.


Demonstrable ability for setting and achieving high standards for team behaviour and performance.


Experience of managing the often conflicting demands of relevant stakeholders, to deliver improved OEE.


Self motivated with desire for continual personal development.
Excellent interpersonal, PC literacy and communication skills.


Practical application knowledge and experience of developing and implementing Reactive, Planned and Predictive maintenance using relevant techniques (RCM, TPM, 5s etc) to improve OEE.


Practical application knowledge and experience of Health, Safety and environmental systems and procedures.
