A world leading supplier of high performance transmissions, requires a R and D Engineer to support their Research and Engineering facility. This is an excellent opportunity to join a company that for nearly two decades has ensured that customers from all sectors meet, or even exceed, their targets by drawing on their unique blend of design, engineering and manufacturing capabilities. Specialising in Transmission Technology, supplying the Aerospace, Automotive, Defence, Marine and Motor Sports Sectors. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the Senior R and D Engineer producing full and accurate R and D test specifications through liaison with customers or in-house Design Engineers.
Responsibilities will include:
Identify tooling requirements for testing and producing detailed drawings for parts using Unigraphics 3D CAD.

Identify and specify sensor and data-logging requirements for testing and arrange purchases as necessary.

Communicate test requirements to RandD technicians and support testing.

Run RandD test rigs when necessary.

Analyse test data using HBM Catman and Pi Analysis data-logging software, or Matlab and Excel as necessary.

Provide clear and detailed reports of testing conducted.

Assist with the day-to-day running of the RandD department, including test scheduling.

Assist in the expansion of the department capacity, including hardware upgrades and new rig design.

Candidates should possess a minimum qualification of HNC in an engineering related discipline together with IT skills and knowledge of Word and Excel.



Skills/Abilities

CAD (including assemblies) is desirable.

Data-logging and sensor experience preferred but not essential.

Excellent general IT skills.

Good organisation and time-management skills to manage workload and meet deadlines in a department where work priorities can change very quickly.

Excellent communication skills to ensure a good working relationship with technicians, in-house engineers and customers.
