A recognised leading manufacturer of industrial diesel engines, where a position has become available for a hot test manufacturing engineer.
This role involves the application of sound technical Manufacturing Engineering skills in a project and process based environment, with responsibility for projects and production support.
The successful candidate will utilise experience and knowledge gained through exposure to hot test facilities.
Responsible for the continual improvement and maintenance of manufacturing processes and systems related to engine hot test. This process support and project role will apply lean Manufacturing tools and techniques to continually improve the hot test facility.
Provide subject matter technical expertise and leadership in the area of hot test.
Develop, evaluate and implement lean and innovative systems and solutions to meet the business objectives in the area of hot test.
Maintain and develop hot test process documentation, including standard work and PFMEA s.
Engage in and lead problem solving exercises utilising the 8D process
Support and engage in the development of on site quality initiatives, including MQ12005
Skills required:
Willingness to work a permanent, or rotating night shift pattern if required
Detailed knowledge of hot test control systems
Detailed knowledge of engine performance testing
Detailed knowledge of test cell calibration
Degree qualified in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience.
Experience in project management (Manufacturing biased)
Experience in technical report writing (Manufacturing biased)
Intermediate/advance knowledge and usage of MS Office packages
Desirable:
Knowledge of PLC s
Knowledge of torsional vibration
