Mechanical Systems Engineer, Advance Engineering

Our client is one of the world`s leading commercial vehicle manufacturers. Established for more than 60 years its product line-up has, more recently, moved into the design and manufacture of passenger cars, including electric vehicles.
Our client a world class manufacturer of automotive modules is currently looking to develop their Advanced Engineering department with a Mechanical Systems Engineer who can support current and new project activities.
The main duties will involve:
Supporting the feasibility phase, concept phase system and vehicle programme
Review and confirm targets for selected technological applications
Define, design and manage whole vehicle preparation for advanced system integration
CAE modelling of advanced systems and vehicles (e.g. Matlab)
Detail design of components as required to support the projects
Test design and supervision
Support the transition of advanced technologies from Advanced Engineering into mainstream product development
Write and present technical information/papers to senior management
This highly challenging position would suit a qualified individual who has a proven background within Advanced Engineering (Mechanical) with involvement in delivering and leading project activities. There will be a degree of travel both throughout the UK, Mainland Europe and Asia to ensure technical innovations and product development activities are managed within time and budgetary constraints.
