Our client is recognised as a leading manufacturer of industrial diesel engines. The organisation is chartered with building strategic supply relationships that deliver superior Quality, Cost, Logistics, Development and Management. They require a Process Control Engineer to reside within a Global Team of Quality Professionals. The role interacts on a regular basis with multiple functional areas including Engineering, Supply Chain, Purchasing and Manufacturing.
The primary responsibilities of this position are to work with suppliers to ensure that robust process controls are in place to prevent nonconformities, to continuously monitor supplier s key manufacturing processes and quality management system for improvement opportunities and to assist suppliers with Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) activities to ensure production readiness for New Product Introduction (NPI).
Key Responsibilities:
APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) Management for all NPI programmes (specific to 6 Engine Manufacturing Facilities Globally).
PCN (Process Change Notification) process management ensuring supplier process change requests are controlled and robustly implemented.
Ensuring all relevant requirements and related changes are thoroughly documented e.g. Process FMEA {failure mode and effects analysis}, Process Control Plans, Gage RandR {repeatability and reproducibility}).
Validate Supplier stated Process Capabilities.
PPAP (production part approval process) completion and approval prior to delivery of new parts
Essential:

A minimum of three years of job-related experience
A bachelor s degree (or equivalent experience) preferably in engineering
Engineering or manufacturing background plus familiarity with manufacturing processes used to produce components and assemblies.
Knowledge of shop operations
Good interpersonal communication.
Capable of using and demonstrating statistical and problem solving tools

Desirable:
Quality engineering certification
Experience with 8D
APQP experience
History of managing supplier relationships demonstrated by purchasing or supply chain experience
6 Sigma experience as a Green Belt or Black Belt
Working knowledge of metrology
