My client is a leading clean power systems company. Their proprietary clean fuel and clean power technologies provide solutions to the difficult environmental and energy supply challenges being faced by governments and industry.

They are looking to appoint a Programme Manager who will report to the Operations Director and will technically lead designated programme(s) and be accountable for delivery. The role will also plan, execute, control and finally close programmes in accordance with the company best practice directives. It will also be necessary to interface with the relevant sales and business development lead, programme customer / partners throughout the various stages of the programme process.

Principal Accountabilities include:

  • Accountable and responsible for programme delivery within time, budget and to specification
  • Assist with structuring and costing of programmes (via PIAP process)
  • Support project managers and senior project mangers
  • Interface with UK Dir Eng, Ops and RandT and UK Bus Dev with regards to best practice IPM
  • Maintain programme plan
  • Create and maintain programme work breakdown structure
  • Allocation of budget and tasks
  • Monitor programme performance
  • Manage, focus and motivate programme team
  • Manage programme change control
  • Presentation of technical status to programme customers / partners
  • To own the quality and integrity of the programme data
  • Coordinate supporting research and technology tasks for programmes
  • Implement EC automotive product development strategy
  • Contribute to product roadmap definition

    Qualifications Minimum first degree or higher in Science or Engineering Qualified Programme Manager preferred Experience
  • Automotive technical programme management preferably with an OEM or Tier 1 supplier
  • Organisational leadership of multi-disciplined engineering led and operationally supported programme teams
  • Building and maintaining programme customer / partner relationships
  • Management of technical personnel
  • Understanding of fuel cell basic principles
  • Appreciation of engineering drawings
  • Understanding of PandI drawings for fluid / mechanical systems
  • Presentation of design solutions using renderings / sketches
  • Applied knowledge of manufacturing processes for prototyping and concept development
  • Knowledge of quality management systems / document control
  • Evidence of effective management of publicly / commercially funded programmes
  • Customer facing programme definition and technical scope negotiation
  • Mentoring project personnel in order to provide training and programme CPD
