Mechanical Design Engineer - Catia v5 - Contract - Automotive - Essex
A leading edge automotive engineering company based in Basildon are now looking to strengthen their team with a Mechanical Design Engineer with Catia v5 experience for a 6 + months contract. HNC/HND qualified with automotive experience required to assist in the preparation of modular hybrid products for a number of customer applications in Europe and US through to production launch.
A great opportunity for a Design Engineer with Catia v5 experience in powertrain to join their existing team to start January 2013. An opportunity also exists to go permanent after contract ends.
Key responsibilities:
Mechanical drawing design/development
Prepare schematic diagrams and BOM's in liaison with Senior Engineers
Liaise with Electronics Designers to package PCB's into mechanical design
Skill sets required:
Use of Catia v5
Experience of die casting
Experience of solid modelling
Ideally you will have a background in mechanical process engineering for manufacturing. An appreciation of mechanical design of Rotating Machines/Electric Motors would be desirable along with a basic understanding of fundamental workshop processes with hands on experience.
