Health, Safety and Environmental Engineer – Sheffield - £25k
Working within the quality department of this Global Groups manufacturing forging and machining operation in Sheffield, our client is seeking a Health, Safety and Environmental Engineer to ensure the safety of all company employees by control and compliance on a daily basis of the company’s Health and Safety, and Environmental Management systems. These systems are inline with their Legal, Regulatory and Customer requirements.
Mainly, you will be responsible for:
- Ensure Health, Safety and Environmental procedures are in place and updated
- To audit the system for compliance
- To carry out investigations into all accidents and near misses
- To document the performance of the HSE Systems on a regular basis and report to Senior Management
- To control the physical waste and implement waste reduction programmes on site including arranging for collection and disposal, in accordance with all legal and regulatory requirements.
- To monitor the usage of all company utilities and implement reduction programmes
- To train company employees in Health, Safety and Environmental requirements
- Carry out Risk and COSHH Assessments
- Carry out Aspect/ Impact Assessments
- To deal with external parties regarding Health, Safety and Environmental matters
- To implement continual improvement programmes on the Health, Safety and Environmental Systems
- To Chair the Health, Safety and Environmental Committee Meeting and Energy Meetings in the absence of the Quality Director
This is a central role within this organisation and therefore Health and Safety qualifications/ experience is desirable and you must be familiar with Health and safety Regulations. Environmental qualifications/ experience desirable along with a familiarity with Environmental Legislation.
