End of Line Test Development Engineer (electronics) - TRW Automotive, Solihull, - £Excellent

TRW is a world-leading supplier of automotive components whose Electronics Engineering division designs and develops Electronic Control Units (ECUs) for many different applications. We are looking for someone to take on a key position in our Electronic Engineering Quality and Product Support Group. You will be responsible for a range of safety critical, mass produced (in excess of 1 million units per year) applications primarily supporting the pre production phases, but following through to some post production support.

The highly varied work will involve the specification and the management of the implementation of End of Line Test (EOL/EOLT) systems for TRW Electric Steering ECUs. You will work with various other technical functions within TRW to ensure EOL/EOLT strategies are both robust and efficient. You will have the opportunity to travel globally to both production and supplier facilities.

What you'll do


- Manage the implementation of EOL/EOLT solutions
- Develop EOL/EOLT strategies in conjunction with the application teams and the manufacturing technology group
- Specify hardware and software requirements for EOL/EOLT specification
- Own and maintain the EOL/EOLT specifications
- Provide hardware and software hands on support during EOL/EOLT development
- Liaise with equipment and software suppliers
- Support Manufacturing issues: test yield, quality, change, etc

What we are looking for

Essential:

- Degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline
- Ability to drive a project through to completion, on time and on budget
- Ability to work on own initiative
- Logical and robust approach to problem solving
- Ability to read and understand electronics at schematic level
- Good working knowledge of standard electronic components
- Good communication skills (both verbal and IS based)
- Willing to travel (both UK and abroad)

Desirable:

- Software skills and experience
- Working knowledge of communication protocols in automotive
- Micro-controller experience
- Motor control and monitoring experience
- Experience of a production environment
