Reporting directly to the Operations Director you will establish and maintain all work instructions and documentation for assembly and test processes.

The main duties for the role are:

Compile detailed Route Cards to document manufacturing processes .using Max core business system.
Design and subsequently draw jigs and fixtures required to ensure efficient and cost effective assembly and test processes.
Monitor and maintain production output and yields to achieve target efficiency and costs.
Instigate and carry out process capability studies.
Provide detailed estimates in support of customer tenders, data to include; source and price Materials goods and services, detailed manufacturing times, etc
Undertake production trouble shooting, initiate and implement corrective actions.
Evaluate and undertake improvements to processes and methods. Eliminate non-value-added activities.
Define and implement planned maintenance programmes to minimise downtime.
As the Production Engineer you will be degree qualified or equivalent in production engineering.

You will have extensive knowledge of production processes with practical knowledge and application of MRPII, Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement techniques, including 5 s, 7 Wastes, 7 Quality tools, TPM and Process Capability.

A team player with excellent communication skills and the ability to work on own initiative, and able to influence others by demonstrating a positive can do attitude.
Computer literate with an understanding of MS Excel, MS Word and MS Project.

Position Description:
Analysis of petrol engine diagnostic trouble codes and warranty to identity potential projects. Use problem solving tools to confirm root cause and identify interim &/or permanent solutions. If these solutions lie within the calibration or EMS area, develop/verify and introduce these changes. The scope covers all of our client’s vehicles both in and post production. It is also necessary to ensure that escape points are identified and formally passed onto the forward model team for lessons learnt. The role will also include an element of resolving emissions non compliance concerns.

Skills Required:
Working knowledge of spark ignition petrol engine fuel based calibrations/driveability and diagnostics with at least 5 years previous experience. Able to work with the ETAS INCA toolset to determine the calibration settings being used for the OBD functions. DMAIC problem solving ability, trained to a min of green belt or equivalent. Competent IT skills including Excel pivot tables, PowerPoint presentations. Full valid UK driving licence.
