A Powertrain Diesel Engineer is required to work on contract for our large automotive client based in Gaydon, Warwickshire.

Description
Position Description:
Part of the Powertrain Diesel Business planning team which is responsible for the ensuring that budgets are properly identified and that the team delivers to these budgets. Key responsibilities will be compiling response to product development letters, monitoring headcount, managing supplier request for quotes and the raising of orders, compiling travel requests and supporting booking travel, compiling budget requests for equipment and ordering it.

Job Requirements
Skills Required:
Good overall powertrain system knowledge. Computer literate in Google, PowerPoint, Excel and Microsoft Project. Valid UK driving licence. Ability to interface directly to the PT vehicle programme leaders and represent the Diesel Powertrain Department at budget reviews. Flexible, adaptable and excellent communicator - written and oral.

Skills Preferred:
Working knowledge of OEM project delivery & change management processes including GPDS, AIMS, and eFDVS. Experience of being responsible for the development of budget submissions and monitoring actual spend against budget.

Details
Experience Required:
Powertrain system design / development or programme management.

Experience Preferred:
OEM specific process knowledge ideally gained in Product Development environment.

Education Required:
It is anticipated that applicants will be educated to a degree level in an engineering or automotive discipline. However candidates with significant powertrain experience will also be considered.

Additional Information:
This contract location will be primarily based at Gaydon but will require working at Whitley as required a couple of days per week. Applicant to be fully independent in terms of transport and have use of mobile phone to aid communication.
