The company is a high performance engineering company who work with a range of high technology industries, including Motorsport and Aerospace. As Buyer, you will report to the Senior Buyer and be responsible for the Supplier performance management in a New Product Introduction ( NPI ) and OEM environment.
As Buyer you will implement sourcing strategies as directed by the SCM, own the Purchasing Work Package for a given number of projects, manage supplier relationships to achieve key project milestones, compile and issue requests for quotation (RFQs) utilising the company supplier selection process, analyse results and make selection recommendations, facilitate stakeholder reviews and action outcomes, work with New Product Introduction teams and engineering to ensure that new requirements and amendments are quickly identified and that supply solutions are in place to meet project timescales, act as Bid Cost Tracker control and achieve business case costs including NRC s, BOM configuration and control, MRP management, setting up and controlling the MRP in line with program and business requirements and order management.
You will have an understanding of business processes with a high Degree of commercial acumen, be able to communicate effectively internally and externally, be action focused and driven to deliver concrete and sustainable results. You must have a
CIPs qualification and or Degree classification in business or engineering. You must also be able to demonstrate a track record of delivering KPI improvement in an aerospace environment working either independently or as part of a multifunctional team. Engineering knowledge/exposure is a plus together with 5 years procurement experience in Aerospace / Automotive or Electrical industries and experience of utilising lean CI techniques.
