HAVOC Engineer

£18 - 20 per hour

Our client is a leading independent provider of product engineering, research, testing information and certification to the worldwide automotive industry and is based in Warwickshire.

A temporary contract requirement has arisen for a HAVOC Engineer until the end of 2011.

The individal will oversee test planning activities by working closely with the Senior/Principal Engineers to plan daily test activities for staff.

He/She will work with Senior/Principal Engineer to plan non-test activities (maintenance/tidying/implementation of new procedures, vehicle maintenance/cleaning records, facility equipment maintenance and records etc) and also assist in planning and overseeing of test installations/removal.

General activities to include

- Upkeep project files and report generation
- Assisting planning vehicle purchase requirements
- Input into HAVOC procedures
- Input into Risk Assessment
- Liaison with Notified body/CE Marking
- Customer liaison
- Proposals/OFD
- Assessment of competency and upkeep of records


Skills:

- Mechanical Engineering background
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel

- Knowledge of Test Methodology including Towing Attachment, Guidance, Ballasting/CofG, Data required for winch set-up; Control of personnel; Speed Measurement

- Knowledge of requirements for pre-test test item data including test item measurements, test Item markers, delivery of relevant drawings, delivery/installation of product.

- Knowledge of pre-test vehicle setup including check/advise ballast and C of G, check/advise measurements and check/advise towing/guidance.

- Knowledge of requirements for post test data including location/condition of vehicle, deflection/ penetration measurements, notation of test item damage and deformation, review of test data, verification of test data, film analysis to obtain full test result for relevant standard.
