A Sycamore Project Engineer is required to work on contract for our large automotive client based in the West Midlands.
Description
Deliver PT portion of Project Sycamore and act as an enabler to support the growth of AJ200. To work within the powertrain business planning department coordinating the location and relocation of people on and between the Gaydon and Whitley sites. The role is customer focused and will require close hands on liaison with the people being located, their managers, the facilities department, IT and telephone department to make sure that locations or relocations occur smoothly and that any issues are resolved efficiently and effectively. Job Requirements
It will also require office audits to confirm accuracy of records as to location and equip for circa 1000 people by physically going to each desk and talking to people. Details of all moves will need to be documented accurately and a high attention to detail is required.
Skills Required:
The candidate must be proficient in use of Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
The candidate should be able to pay a high level of attention to detail, be organised, self motivated, a good communicator and negotiator as role will require them to spend time talking to people at all levels within the business.
The candidate will be primarily based on the Whitley site but will be required to spend periods of time working at Gaydon, they also need to be able to work occasional weekends to support the larger relocations and must have their own transport.
Skills Preferred:
The role requires the person to be a strong project manager, self motivated and be able to construct well reasoned and researched recommendations on how to resolve issues. The role will also require the person to support other team members during peak workloads in their workstreams which cover a variety of different activities including travel, headcount planning, facility hire and overheads. Business planning is also responsible for maintaining certain aspects of the website which the successful candidate may be required to help with.
Experience Required:
At least two years experience of working in an office environment where they should have gained hands on experience in negotiating resolutions to issues. Project management experience in an equivalent position is essential.
Education Required:
Minimum of C at GCSE's in English Language and Maths.
