Our Client is a World Leader in the innovation, Design and Manufacture of Diesel Fuel Injection Equipment.
They are now looking for an Engineering Manager to lead and manage the Heavy Duty Nozzle Product Engineering Department.
Reporting to the Heavy Duty Chief Designer you will be responsible for the fuel injector nozzle design, development and validation activities from concept through to job1 and continuous improvements in production.
As the Engineering Manager you will be able to:

Ensure that the most cost effective nozzle design is provided to the business
Generate new nozzle concepts as required
Consider the customer and market requirements
Analyse the design to ensure safety and functional requirements are met
Select appropriate materials, heat-treatments, coatings, fits; finishes etc
Work with manufacturing and suppliers to agree optimum method of manufacture
Provide drawings, design documentation (eg DFMEA, FEA reports, SF calculations etc ) and test results to project timelines
Progress nozzle development activities with the development/project teams to ensure that the functional requirements are met
Progress nozzle validation activities with the validation/project teams to ensure the durability (and strength) requirements are met
Ensure that appropriate IP protection is sought
The successful applicant will hold a degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent with solid experience in design and/or development of mechanical systems, preferably high precision, highly stressed, and mass produced components.

Ideal Candidates should be able to demonstrate:
Experience leading and/or managing technical teams
Strong communication skills and experience with customers, project teams, other
business functions, suppliers, manufacturing and senior management
Experience of Design and Development Tools (eg CAD Solidworks - DFMEA, FEA,
DOE, Shainin), Drawing standards and documentation.

Must be able to travel between London and Kent on a regular basis.
