An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a world-class team, based in Shirley, responsible for delivering $30-70M revenue programmes in Braking Systems.This is a very fast paced sector with the design and development of safety critical braking systems involving the traditional mechanical caliper, friction and rotor interfaces with all the challenges that entails, but also Electric Park Brake systems and actuation systems designed to be compatible with standard, hybrid and electric drive-trains. The products designed and sold are technically advanced and highly developed and the people we are looking for will be key to ensuring that reputation at our customers on future vehicles with our products fitted.
What you ll do

Participate in the promotion of new braking/ chassis systems into UK customer portfolio
Lead the Braking Systems acquisition process for a given customer or project
Be responsible for requirements management of systems and component projects
Undertake Braking Systems engineering project planning and implementation, including staged design
Manage frequent meetings, including liaison with customers in order to progress projects to schedule
Responsible for engineering prototype management
Responsible for liaison with external suppliers
Lead problem-solving teams internally and externally using recognised problem solving tools
Contribution to the technical capability of the group
What we are looking for

Essential:
Educated to engineering degree standard
Behavioural and personality characteristics consistent with significant customer exposure
Excellent and proven project management and communication skills
Experience of vehicle electro-mechanical and hydraulic systems with excellent problem solving ability
Willingness to travel

Desirable:
Flexibility in managing varying work tasks in a fast paced, broad ranging role
Ability to work with most MS Office applications but especially Excel and Project
German language skills advantageous
