A leading advanced composites company based in Cambridge have a number of vacancies for experienced Technologists/Material Scientists to join their European Qualifications department.
They boast to be one of the largest US producers of carbon fibre; a major weaver of structural fabrics; the number one producer of composite materials such as honeycomb, prepregs, film adhesives and sandwich panels.

They market their products to a range of sectors including commercial aerospace, space and defence, wind energy, transportation, recreation and general industries.

PLEASE NOTE
Due to the nature of the business involved the successful candidate will be required to obtain a level of UK Government Security Clearance, therefore we can only accept applications from British Citizens who have been a UK resident for 5years + consecutively to date

The key activities of these roles are:
Testing the physical and mechanical properties of the materials using a variety of techniques Project preparation and planning Writing full technical reports Reading and vetting external specifications Preparation of specimens Analysis and reporting of results Further understanding and exploration of composite materials and their structures. The ideal candidates will be educated to degree level in Chemistry, Materials or an Engineering field however, consideration will be given to candidates with a B-TEC, HNC or equivalent in these areas who also have relevant work experience.


Candidates MUST have previous experience in mechanical testing and it would be preferable if they also had experience in chemical testing.
The ability to work with minimum supervision, a keen eye for detail and a practical approach to work is essential as is the ability to problem-solve and work well within a team.

Candidates must also have good report writing skills.

Candidates must possess fluent English skills both written and verbal.
