A Production Engineering role within an automotive high performance component manufacturer. A firm that have a had very busy 2011 which is set to continue into 2012.

A medium sized company who are very specialist in the work they do; they provide automotive components to the luxury car market and beyond into Motorsport and F1.

This role is within a very fast paced and busy environment; you`ll be working under the Manufacturing Engineering Manager. The role will encompass the wider production process whilst retaining a close contact with a team of CNC operators, led by a Team Leader. You must be from a CNC background and be happy to program and operate machines to produce any first off in addition to being the point of liaison for initial technical queries.

You will need to have process experience (FMEA, control plans amongst other) and liaise with the designers to DFM stage. Previous Quality experience of TS and ISO standards is a pre requisite (ideally 14001 as well as 9001) as is experience working on CAD.

This will be a potentially very rewarding position as the company has good structure; it is a very fast paced role and you`ll be hitting the ground running as soon as you start.

As the Calibration Engineer EMS you will be involved in developing a thorough understanding of the clients requirements..

It will require understanding and interpreting customer requirements for fuel injection equipment and the engine management system; executing or managing rig test, engine test and system calibration activities; liaison with client engineers and managers; short term residency at client premises (e.g. climate test trips); troubleshooting and supporting engineering and system calibration activities through to production and beyond.

The successful candidates responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

System integration and calibration of fuel injection systems on a range of engine applications, both on- and off-highway.

Support to, or responsibility for (depending on skills), aspects of engine and FIE system calibration.

Devising and executing test and analysis work on fuel injection equipment rigs, engines and vehicles.

Writing reports and presenting results to customer and client audiences.

Close liaison with client (including short periods at client premises) to monitor project progress, track components, train client engineers in CR systems and assist in troubleshooting on calibration, mechanical and electronic issues.

Organise the procurement and testing of sample hardware to meet customer requirements.

Client handling, in order to understand and advise the external clients on the design specifications of a particular product.

As the Calibration Engineer you will hold a degree (or equivalent) in mechanical engineering or related subject.

Proven experience of engine emissions and performance development and calibration and experience of engine control and fuel injection systems, and calibration tools.

Personal and presentation skills, to enable liaison with internal design/development team and to represent to external clients.

Team player with good interpersonal skills, able to work in a multi-disciplinary group with limited supervision.

Must be able to work under pressure and manage several tasks at once.

Current IT knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Access, Project etc

Must be able and willing to travel locally and abroad at short notice.

We are seeking to recruit a Test Rig Design Engineer on either a permanent or contract basis.

As Test Rig Design Engineer, you will have the following skills/experience:
* Knowledge of test rig design, preferably within the aerospace industry, but candidates from other backgrounds (such as machinery or transport) will be considered.
* Basic knowledge of dynamic (motorised) systems/machines.
* Possess a good general engineering knowledge including basic mechanical structures.
* Ability to produce mechanical estimates (costing of hardware and design) is advantageous.
* Knowledge of and familiarity with AutoCAD software and be able to produce basic drawings. More advanced AutoCAD skills would be advantageous. Other drawing systems may be considered.
* An understanding of electrical control systems would be desirable (design knowledge is not expected.)

Applicants are required to have a HNC/HND, degree or equivalent in a related engineering field.
