Calibration Engineer - Engine Management System (EMS)

A world leader in the innovation, design and manufacture of Diesel Fuel Injection equipment are now looking for an Calibration Engineer Engine Management System (EMS) to be based at their site in Gillingham, Kent.
As the Calibration Engineer EMS you will be involved in developing a thorough understanding of the clients requirements..
It will require understanding and interpreting customer requirements for fuel injection equipment and the engine management system; executing or managing rig test, engine test and system calibration activities; liaison with client engineers and managers; short term residency at client premises (e.g. climate test trips); troubleshooting and supporting engineering and system calibration activities through to production and beyond.
The successful candidates responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
System integration and calibration of fuel injection systems on a range of engine applications, both on- and off-highway.
Support to, or responsibility for (depending on skills), aspects of engine and FIE system calibration.
Devising and executing test and analysis work on fuel injection equipment rigs, engines and vehicles.
Writing reports and presenting results to customer and client audiences.
Close liaison with client (including short periods at client premises) to monitor project progress, track components, train client engineers in CR systems and assist in troubleshooting on calibration, mechanical and electronic issues.
Organise the procurement and testing of sample hardware to meet customer requirements.
Client handling, in order to understand and advise the external clients on the design specifications of a particular product.
As the Calibration Engineer you will hold a degree (or equivalent) in mechanical engineering or related subject.
Proven experience of engine emissions and performance development and calibration and experience of engine control and fuel injection systems, and calibration tools.
Personal and presentation skills, to enable liaison with internal design/development team and to represent to external clients.
Team player with good interpersonal skills, able to work in a multi-disciplinary group with limited supervision.
Must be able to work under pressure and manage several tasks at once.
Current IT knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Access, Project etc
Must be able and willing to travel locally and abroad at short notice.
