Electronics Engineer

Williams Hybrid Power are developing electric flywheel energy storage technology for mobile, hybrid and electric vehicle applications and are now looking for a full time Electrical Engineers and Electronics Engineer to become an integral member of the team and be tasked with design and development of efficient and robust motors, motor drives, and control systems for customer programs.
As the Electronics Engineer and the Electrical Engineer the main functions include:
System and component definition based on customer requirements.
Simulation and analysis of new and existing designs
Design and release of new systems and components
Work with suppliers, inspection and build to deliver prototype parts for test and development.
Work with test and development to formulate validation plans and feed the results back into component FMEAs.
Resolve component concerns
The ideal candidate will be degree qualified in electrical/electronics/mechatronics engineering or equivalent.
In addition the following would ideally be amongst the candidates skills:
Matlab/Simulink and Labview experience
Simulation using Saber an advantage
C++ programming an advantage.
The following experience is desirable:
Design for a volume production OEM; Design of motor drives and power electronics for mobile applications
Motor design in the 100kW range for mobile applications
Knowledge of relevant production processes, materials and manufacturing techniques
Knowledge of relevant design standards, quality systems and tools such as DFA, DFM and Design for low cost production.
The candidate should be self-motivated, capable of working autonomously as well as working as part of a team and adaptable to the constantly changing priorities.
