Our client is a leading automotive component manufacturer. As Maintenance Engineer the main purpose of the role is to work within a shift based maintenance team to improve the overall asset and team performance in terms of safety, function, reliability and cost and to directly support the manufacturing teams in achieving service, cost and quality performance.

You will be responsible for the identification and implementation of appropriate cost down initiatives and/or efficiency savings which minimise spoilage and waste, you will ensure prompt and comprehensive root cause analysis of the reasons for any production downtime, with recommendations for actions to prevent further recurrence, ensure compliance with relevant HandS legislations, policies and procedures and promote correct use of PPE in order to eliminate or reduce risks to health and well-being for staff and visitors to the site. You will also support the development and implementation of appropriate quality control and inspection mechanisms to ensure compliance with required standards with particular focus on meeting and exceeding right first time targets and undertake ongoing monitoring to identify further areas for improvement.

You must have completed a full indentured Mechanical / Electrical apprenticeship or equivalent, have a minimum of three years experience working in a manufacturing environment, good analytical skills, experience of Fanuc and Nachi robots with regard to fault finding and improvements and experience of presses with regard to fault finding and improvements. You must also be able to work on your own and as part of a team and have effective communication skills. This is a shift based role which will require flexibility on occasion.

Experience with working in a Body in White environment desirable.

PLC programming experience for Fanuc, Nachi, Motoman, Siemens, ABB desirable
